Stray Animal Information
Stray animals are taken to the Rock Island County Animal Care and Control Facility at 4001 - 78th Avenue, in Moline, Illinois.
If your animal becomes lost you should immediately call the Animal Control Officer for your area. In addition, you can to report your lost pet to the Rock Island County Animal Care and Control Shelter.
If a stray animal is picked up and has identification or is micro-chipped, the owner will be immediately notified. If the animal has no identification, it will be held for seven (7) days at the Rock Island County Animal Care and Control Facility to allow the owner a chance to locate their pet. After seven (7) days the animal is assessed for adoption. We are committed to ensuring that NO adoptable pet be euthanized.

If no one is available, leave a message and someone will return your call to verify if we have obtained your animal.
If you have found an animal:
You may want to check your neighborhood (chances are the animal is from your area). If the animal is wearing a tag, please contact the Rock Island County Animal Care and Control Facility or your Animal Control Officer to see if they can help you locate the owner.
If the animal is not tagged and you are unable to obtain the owner's information, contact the appropriate Animal Control Office and you will be advised where to deliver the animal or arrangements can be made to have the animal picked up.
