All fees are due at the time of service, we do not bill.

Redemption Fees

Pursuant to the provisions of 510ILCS 5/10; the following redemption fees shall be charged:

Impoundment Fee (Licensed Animal)$25.00
Impoundment Fee (Non-Licensed Animal)$50.00
Rabies Vaccination$18.00

If an owner’s dog is found running at large, the dog’s owner shall pay a $25.00 public safety fine, $20.00 of which shall be deposited into the Pet Population Control Fund and $5.00 of which shall be retained by the county. 510 ILCS 5/9.

The owner of any impounded dog or cat who desires to make redemption thereof shall pay a $25.00 public safety fine to be deposited into the Pet Population Control Fund; the fine shall be waived if it is the dog’s or cat’s first impoundment and the owner has the animal spayed or neutered within fourteen (14) days. 510 ILCS 5/10.

Registration Fees (Annually)

Fees shall be due within thirty (30) days of the anniversary date of the rabies inoculation.

Surgeries are performed on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call (309) 558-DOGS (3647). Appointments are pre-pay at Scheduling. No Refunds for No Show.

Families within Rock Island County who are experiencing financial difficulty and are considering the surrendering of their pet may consider available assistance programs. The Rock Island County Animal Care and Control Shelter offers low-cost spay-neuter services.  Please contact our shelter for help or for information on how we can be of help to you and your pet.
