Real Estate Property Tax Payments
The Rock Island County Collector will mail real estate tax bills on or before May 5, 2023. Online payments will be accepted after that date.
Due Dates for the 2022 Real Estate Taxes, payable in 2023 are as follows:
- 1st Installment: Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
- 2nd Installment: Monday, August 7, 2023.
- 3rd Installment: Thursday, September 7, 2023.
- 4th Installment: Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Options for Paying Your Real Estate Property Taxes:
At your bank/credit union: Click here for details and a list of banks and credit unions that accept property tax payments on our behalf through November 7, 2023. Bring your entire bill with stubs. No credit/debit cards.
By mail: Send your check with the payment stub to the Rock Island County Collector, PO Box 3277, Rock Island, IL 61204-3277. Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before the due date to avoid penalty. Click here for more details about paying by mail.
At our office: Pay in-person at the Rock Island County Office Building, 1504 3rd Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201. We accept cash, check, cashier’s check or money order. New this year: we accept in-person credit/debit cards (processing fees up to 2.45% apply*). No personal or business checks, or credit/debit cards are accepted after November 27, 2023. Drive-up Drop Box: Drop an envelope with your payment & stub inside the box located in the alley/parking lot behind the County Office Building.
Online: Pay using e-check, debit or credit card (processing fees apply*) by clicking here. You can also enroll in automatic payments and email reminders.
By phone: Dial 1-855-965-4400 and pay using e-check, debit or credit card (processing fees apply*). Se habla español.
*Processing fees:
- $1.00 E-Check processing fee.
- 2.45% Credit/Debit Card processing fee (or $2.00 for transactions under $82.00).
- Note: processing/convenience fees are not charged by the Rock Island County Treasurer’s Office; it is the fee of the third-party credit card processor.
Escrow payments: If your mortgage company is to pay the bill, it may be indicated in the shaded area of each stub on your tax bill, or it is your responsibility to forward a copy to the mortgage company for payment. Click here for more details on escrow/mortgage company payments.
NOTE:
- Tax installments must be paid in sequence order on or before the due dates listed to avoid interest penalty.
- Shortly after the fourth installment is due (approximately the first week of December), you will receive a certified notice of delinquency and publishing in the newspaper for any amounts owed with an additional fee of $10. Read such notices carefully to pay.

Changing Your Address
If you are the owner, trustee, or power of attorney for a property and you have a change in your billing address, you will need to fill out a "Property Tax Bill Change of Address" form. To obtain the form, you can stop by the County Treasurer's Office at 1504 Third Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois or you may download the change of address form (PDF) and email, mail, or fax the form back to the Treasurer’s Office.
Obtaining a Copy of a Bill
You may purchase a duplicate tax bill for a $2 charge. Please contact the Treasurer's Office for details. Make checks payable and send to:

Banks / Mortgage Companies
INFORMATION FOR BANKS/MORTGAGE COMPANIES ONLY: Tax stubs must be presented with payment if not set up for online payments through Autoagent. Mortgage companies will be charged $5 memo bill fee per parcel/payment in lieu of payment stubs. The $5 memo bill fee must be on separate check from the tax payment.

Returned Checks
A $30 service fee will be charged for all returned payments.
